WHAT
OUR GUESTS HAVE TO SAY ...
Review
by B. & B. Hamton: The
California Central Coast city of Cambria is a destination
to which you will return to restore and rejuvenate your
inner sense of serenity and contentment. Nestled in beautifully
forested slopes of Cambria, the J. Patrick House B&B
is the perfect setting to fulfill your wishes for a memorable
and restorative stay. The owners John and Ann and Innkeeper
Lori have created the ultimate retreat from our hectic
lives. Their attention to details is reflected in everything
that they do; from the beautifully decorated and maintained
rooms, the lovely gardens, the expertly and thoughtfully
prepared foods and all that goes on behind the scenes
that is orchestrated by the staff to ensure that your
stay is not only memorable but a treasured experience
that you will wish to relive time and time again. John
has mastered the art of engaging all of his guests in
scintillating conversations and thereby creating an atmosphere
of conviviality amongst all of his guests. John has cultivated
his culinary skills to a fine art. He has spent many hours
perfecting his signature dishes such as his corn-cheese
soufflé, banana French toast and his delectable
cranberry scones. His special recipe granola and chocolate
cookies are among the best that you will ever experience.
As we have been, you too will be lured back to Cambria
and the magical and serene J. Patrick House.
Central CA - JUL 08: My husband and I spent our
1st Wedding Anniversary weekend in Cambria. We spent 2
nights at J. Patrick House. What a wonderful experience.
We were well welcomed the moment we stepped in the door.
The innkeeper was very kind and showed us around. There
was a problem with the original room that we had booked,
so they had us stay in another room for the first night
and then we would switch to our original room the second
night. Not a problem, because all we had to do was gather
all of our stuff together, and they moved our belongings
themselves. The wine and snacks time was a nice moment
to get to know some of the others that were also staying
at the Bed & Breakfast. The innkeeper helped us pick
out a restaurant for us to dine in that first night, and
it was a great choice, the Sea Chest Oyster Bar &
Seafood Restaurant. The rooms a J. Patrick house were
very comfy, and the bed was very comfortable. I kind of
wish it was a little colder, so that we would have been
able to use the fireplace, but July is a great time to
visit the Central Coast. The breakfasts at J. Patrick
House was delicious. I as hoping that we would be lucky
enough to get some of John's stuffed french toast, and
we did. They were delicious. The breakfast is very fresh
and very filling. This was our first experience at a Bed
& Breakfast, and we loved it! We will definitely return
one day, and we recommend this place to everyone! It's
is perfect and in a perfect location!
Camarillo,
CA - Jun 08: The
J. Patrick House Bed and Breakfast Inn exudes warmth and
elegance in a country setting. The rooms are filled with
elegant and comfortable decor. We had excellent "good
night sleeps" in the big bed with beautiful linens
and bedding! The gourmet breakfast each morning was plentiful
and delicious. This is the perfect get-away for a romantic
weekend or a quiet break during the work week.
Fontana,
CA - Jun 08: My
husband and I were recommended the JP House and went for
it. It was our first Bed and Breakfast stay and it was
amazing! The atmosphere was so peaceful and friendly.
The service was superb! The wine and cheese hour, the
outstanding breakfasts and the sweet cookies and milk
at bed time. We adored our time there and plan to escape
there at least once a year. The price is a real bargain
for all you get! We consider that place and that quaint
town a little heaven on earth.
Los
Angeles, CA - Jun 08: We
just spent our anniversary and 4th stay at the J Patrick
House. Everything about this inn is wonderful. The innkeepers
are great hosts and will do everything they can to make
your stay special. The grounds and rooms are beautiful
and very well kept up. Their homemade breakfasts consists
of fresh granola, fruit and a delicious entree. They have
wine & cheese in the afternoon and you can't resist
the homemade cookies (baked that morning) and cold milk
in the evening. We love Cambria anytime of the year. For
a small community, there are many places to stay (because
of Hearst Castle nearby). We always come back to the J
Patrick House. The warmth and hospitality you receive
is worth "the price of admission". We recommend
this to anyone who wants to get away for a relaxing and
romantic time.
Franklin,
TN - May 08: We
stayed at the inn during our trip of the California coast.
The room, innkeepers, food, location to Hearst Castle
were all wonderful. We couldn't have asked for anything
more. We highly recommend it, and do allow time for Cambria.
It's a cute charming town.
Redwood
City, CA - May 08: We
spent our 3rd Anniversary vi sting quaint, artsy Cambria
by staying in a beautiful B&B for the 1st time. It
felt kind of weird at first going into a house and entering
our bedroom but when we did we were pleasantly surprised
by the knotty pine interior, gorgeous bed, and fireplace!
Everyone at the Inn was extremely nice, warm and inviting.
It didn't take long to feel right at home even though
my hubby had to go down to the street to have his nightly
smoke. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Innkeeper John
is a retired firefighter, friendly, and a good cook too!
He'll make you feel right at home and give you as much
advice as you would like. Thanks for the memories!
Menifee,
CA - May 08: What
a wonderful experience we had at J. Patrick House. We
have been to several B&Bs and we really enjoyed our
stay here in Cambria. The evening wine and cheese sampling
was a fun way to meet the other guests and the chocolate
chip cookies at bedtime were delicious. The Tipperary
room was exceptional! The bed was soooo comfortable and
the fireplace was awesome. The stuffed french toast was
out of this world! Wish we could have stayed for more
than one night. We are already talking about going back
for our anniversary!
Southern
CA - Apr 08: This
was our second visit to J. Patrick House. We love this
place. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is fabulous
and how can you go wrong with warm chocolate chip cookies
and milk before bedtime. What we really enjoy is the fact
that there are no electronics and you get to focus on
each other. The inn is non-smoking and there are no kids
so it's quite. The grounds are beautiful and the main
street is not far away. The innkeepers are always helpful
with great dinner and idea suggestions. This time we had
dinner at a great restaurant in town and John, personally,
gave us great directions to a hike/waterfall just a short
distance away. We also took the inn's suggestion to use
The Wine Wrangler for wine-tasking trip into Paso Robles.
Yet another great time; we WILL be back!
Seattle, WA - Apr 08: We
loved the beaches at Cambria Ca and it was so nice to
come back to a cozy bedroom with a fire place at the J
Patrick House. The two breakfasts we had were excellent
and the gardens were welcoming. Coffee was pleasantly
set our early in the morning and snacks and wine at night.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate our 30th anniversary.
